Krista Stewart studied in Germany
and London, where she obtained a postgraduate diploma in art and
design from Goldsmiths London University. She has exhibited
paintings and sculpture in Covent Garden London and Hamburg Germany
and has also been part of a travelling exhibition that toured
Europe.
Krista Stewarts paintings are
about the relationship of spaces and interplay of form. Her
inspiration comes from modern architecture its fluid forms and
stark geometric shapes and contemporary design.
Impact and drama are an
important part of her paintings, the paintings are dramatic
and bold in form and colour and are designed to take on a strong
presence in a room .
She uses bright colours with
various diluted washes and metallic paints with black on
silver backgrounds creating dramatic backdrops. for feature walls
in modern interiors.
Recently she has
been commisioned by the Royal Womens Hospital to paint the artworks
for the new Francis Perry Private Hospital entrance.
“In my
paintings I like to compose pictures using the interplay of form
…
Pure form produces magical variations and creates an exciting
visual language.”
