Harriet Posner combines the
flowing gesture of calligraphic strokes with a vibrancy of colour
in her synthetic polymer and acrylic paintings. Forms emerge from
complexities of black dashes creating a multitude of pattern that
contains intricacies close up but come together to create rich
artworks.
Brushwork reminiscent of the
orient is apparent where dark lines intermingle to create lively
shapes dotted across the canvasses, each one a unique creation and
character.
Her style is the interesting
dynamic of this Asian influence over her previous experience as an
illustrator and cartoonist, of which her earlier works have been
represented in a number of other countries.
